2025 RecurDyn Simulation Contest: Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers.
This August, FunctionBay’s Pangyo headquarters proudly hosted the 7th annual “2025 RecurDyn Simulation Contest.”
The contest was created not only to showcase the power of RecurDyn, our state-of-the-art multibody dynamics software, but also to broaden awareness of the value of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) in solving real-world engineering challenges.
Most importantly, it serves as a platform to foster the next generation of talented engineers. That’s why we opened the competition to students from across Korea—including undergraduates and graduate students.
This year, applications poured in from universities nationwide. After a careful and fair evaluation by the FunctionBay judging panel, five outstanding teams were selected to present their final projects.
The result?
An exciting day filled with innovation, creativity, and passionate presentations.
Let’s take you behind the scenes of this year’s competition and introduce you to the five finalist teams who brought RecurDyn to life in unique and inspiring ways.
The judging process took into account a variety of criteria, including originality of the topic, sophistication of the model, cross-disciplinary integration, and the depth of analysis through comparisons with experiments or theoretical formulas.
The five finalist teams, who had invested their summer months in developing and refining their simulation models, confidently presented their work on stage.
They impressed the audience and the judges by responding thoughtfully and without hesitation to challenging questions during the Q&A sessions.
After careful deliberation, the judging panel selected the winners: one Gold Prize, one Silver Prize, and three Bronze Prizes.
