"The desired vendor daemon is down"

When an error pop-up message like the one below appears, check two things first.


1. Due to License Expiration

  • Please check the expiration date of the license file.
  • Such a message below may appear if your license has expired.


2. Install a new license server

  • If you have installed a new version of RecurDyn, the error may occur because the license server has not been updated.
  • In such a case, please also reinstall the license server.


The following error may occur when running RecurDyn using the License Server on Windows 8 or Windows 10.

The desired vendor daemon is down. Check the lmgrd log file, or try Imreread.

When running RecurDyn with FunctionBay License Server on Windows 8 or Windows 10, the following error may occur.

If you click the 'Stop Server' button to reboot the Server of FunctionBay License to solve the problem, the following error message is displayed, and it cannot be stopped normally.

Unable to Stop Server. Check the License search path and VD status.


This problem is caused by the fact that FunctionBay License Server cannot be executed normally since the PC with FunctionBay License Server is frequently rebooted.


This problem can be solved by the following method.

  1. Search and launch 'Services' in the keyboard window buttons and Windows Search.
  2. Search for 'FunctionBay License Manager (FBLMD)' in the list displayed and double-click on the property to open it.
  3. Click the ‘Stop’ button. When it stops, click the ‘Start’ button to see ‘Service status: Running’
  4. Click the ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’ buttons to close the Properties window.
