2D Belt - Flat & Timing Belt

The 2D Belt system only supports the Flat / Timing Rigid Belt. The 2D belt assemble only considers 2-Dimensional movement on the specified working plane. So, user can solve faster the belt assemble of a thousand of rigid belt segment.

[Notice]

The 2D belt assemble does not consider to solve the movement of the depth direction. Therefore, there are no meaning about V-Belt and Ribbed V-Belt modeling. Because, in the case of V-belt & Ribbed V-belt type, that belt system solves the interaction between the V-belt side and V-pulley side. From this reason, V-Belt & Ribbed V-Belt are not supported in the 2D belt system

2D Belt - Linear Guide 1

Usually, the belt system does not use the Guide body(Roller body is usually used). However, in the case of escalator’s handrail belt assembly is sustained by a guide body(not roller). So, in order to represent these belt supporting device of handrail, the arc & linear guide bodies are developed newly in V8R5.

The linear guide is built by linear surface geometry. This linear guide is contacted with belt segment.

2D Belt - Linear Guide 2

One arc guide body is composed by multi-arc geometry segments. So, when you create the are guide body, you have to input the multi-points for the multi-arc geometry. The most important of arc guide is the contact normal direction. This contact normal direction of arc guide is fixed as the normal of arc’s convex. So, user have to check the direction when you try to simulate the contact between belt and arc guide. Please keep in mind this information when you modify the Arc Radius manually.

2D Belt - Arc Guide

The contact normal direction of Arc Guide is defined automatically, when you create the arc guide. However, if you create the arc guide with multi-points, it is not easy to confirm which direction is normal? The correct normal direction is defined as below rule. If the normal is wrong, please change the sign of radius. Please keep in mind, when you create the arc guide!(And, you can confirm the direction using preview.

2D Belt - Assembly

The 2D Belt has developed for more faster solving performance. Therefore, the 2D belt assemble can only consider the movement on the X-Y plane(Z-direction is normal).
