Co-simulation between RecurDyn and Matlab/Simulink is one of the most frequently used feature.
(Usually for the simulation of the multi-body dynamics model and Controller such as PID.)
You can refer to the below article for the compatibility between RecurDyn and Matlab/Simulink.
For example, RecurDyn V8R5 and RecurDyn V9R1 are compatible up to MATLAB 2016b (9.1) using Interface Version 3.0. (Interface Version 3.0 can be applied in Simulink settings in RecurDyn)
Interface Version 3.0 must be applied when performing co-simulation between RecurDyn and MATLAB versions released after MATLAB 2015b.
Make sure to check the MATLAB version that guarantees compatibility with each RecurDyn version when performing co-simulation between RecurDyn and MATLAB.
