FunctionBay, Inc. is a professional CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Simulation software developer.
RecurDyn is widely used by over 650 companies in over 30 countries worldwide.
This year marks the 28th year of FunctionBay as a leading CAE-specialized company in South Korea.
In this interview with CEO Kyung-Chun Jang, you will learn more about FunctionBay and RecurDyn.

Q. Please briefly introduce FunctionBay.
A. FunctionBay is a company that develops engineering software 'RecurDyn.
Our headquarters is located in Pangyo, South Korea,
and we have a global network with branches in the U.S., Japan, Germany, and China,
and distributor networks in Taiwan, Italy, and India.
We have made RecurDyn sales to over 650 companies in more than 30 countries
and have accumulated a wealth of know-how and feedback
by providing technical consulting services related to RecurDyn.
This supports the ongoing development of CAE software.
Q. Can you introduce FunctionBay's main product and achievements so far?
A. RecurDyn is categorized under 'CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering)' software.
Specifically, it is a software solution in Multibody Dynamics (MBD)
that enables the modeling and simulation of moving mechanical systems, such as automobiles and robots.
This allows users to assess the dynamic behavior of products,
the loads on individual components, and the motor capacity required for operation in a virtual environment,
without the need for physical prototypes.
Global leaders such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, John Deere, Siemens, NASA, Aisin, CNH, Dana, Campagnolo, and Güdel have been using RecurDyn from the early stages of product development.
Q. What are your thoughts on the future outlook of the dynamic CAE software market,
and could you share your plans?
A. RecurDyn is highly regarded by many customers for its ease of use.
Particularly in areas related to MFBD (Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics) technology
that use both rigid and flexible bodies, and simulations that consider co-simulations
between mechanical systems and fluids,
RecurDyn is evaluated as being significantly easier to use compared to other software.
One of our major strengths is that we possess an exceptionally powerful solver.
One of FunctionBay's major strengths is that we possess a solver superior to any other software.
Based on this excellent usability and robust solver,
we promise to provide value to more engineers, and we will strive to ensure
that more companies adopt RecurDyn in the future.
