FunctionBay’s upgraded RecurDyn software promotes co-simulation
[THE INVESTOR] Korean tech firm FunctionBay recently announced a partnership with UK-based EDEM Solutions to deploy upgraded co-simulation RecurDyn V9R1, which was released in October this year.
RecurDyn V9R1 offers a variety of new features including various improvements and one of its key features is the integrated analysis solution with Discrete Element Modeling technology that allows more accurate results for software simulation.
Users can simulate bulk materials with EDM technology, feed the simulation data to the RecurDyn multi-body dynamics tool to model heavy-equipment behavior and then feed data back to EDEM to provide realistic force-feedback.
“When designing heavy equipment, being able to accurately predict the loads and forces acting on an equipment is key to optimizing performance and durability. By coupling EDEM with RecurDyn, engineers no longer have to rely on ‘rule of thumb’ and assumptions to get realistic material loads in their multi-body dynamic simulations,” said Richard LaRoche, CEO of EDEM.
Users can now evaluate performance, durability and efficiency of the operations for nearly any scenario and environment with these tools.
Engineers can perform previously impractical what-if analysis with the new tools, said FunctionBay.
