When modeling a spring force in RecurDyn, you can improve analysis accuracy by applying field-measured data to the spring stiffness/damping parameters, as shown in the above figure.
In RecurDyn, you can use the coefficient (PV) and spline properties to specify the stiffness and damping parameters of the spring force.
To do so, perform the following steps:
◾ Open the Properties dialog window for the spring force.
On the Spring tab, change the parameter type to Spring Spline, and then click the SP button to open the Spline List dialog window.
◾ Click Create at the bottom of the Spline List dialog window to open the Spline Creation dialog window. Then, enter the data for the X and Y axes manually or import the data from a text file.
◾ Once the spline is created, click OK to apply the spline data to the spring parameter.
