As soon as you perform analysis in RecurDyn, various files are created.

The files created include the result file, modeling info file, etc. and are as follows:

If you don't want to use any of the files, go to [Home]-[Model Setting]-[Simulation] and select the [Output Files] tab. On the tab, deselect the files that you don't want to use to prevent the files from being created.

File NameFile FormatCreated byContents
RMDTextRecurDyn/Modeler(Model Data) The file includes all the model data that the solver imports and uses during the analysis.
RPLTBinaryRecurDyn/Solver(Plot, Scope, …) The analysis result file is used in Plot and Scope menus.
RADBinaryRecurDyn/Modeler(Animation) The file includes the animation result. If you import this file, the animation flag is activated and the RPLT file linked with the RAD file is automatically imported together.
OUTTextRecurDyn/Solver(Output) Initial conditions and eigen outputs

  • Undamped natural frequency
    • Undamped natural frequency
    • Eigenvetor
  • Damped natural frequency
    • Damped natural frequency
    • Damping Ratio
    • Real Part of Eigenvalue
    • Imagery part of Eigenvalue
    • Undamped natural frequency
    • Eigenvetor
REQTextRecurDyn/Solver(Request) The result data for pre-defined requests.
MSGTextRecurDyn/Solver(Message) The data that the solver recorded, including the creation date and time of the analysis model, joint data, redundant constraint data, analysis settings, etc.
RDPTextRecurDyn/Modeler(Design Parameter) Design parameters used in the parametric study.
RPITextRecurDyn/Modeler(Performance Index) The result data formed from the performance indices that are used in the parametric study.
RANTextRecurDyn/Solver(Solver-Generated Animation) Animation result data. You can use this file to activate the animation. A standalone solver does not have RecurDyn/Modeler and cannot create a RAD file. Therefore, a RAN file should be created as a result of animation. If you import a RAN file, the linked RPLT file is automatically imported together.
RPMXTextRecurDyn/Solver(Multi Output) The file allows you to easily change the loaded result animation when performing multiple analyses using a scenario analysis. To do so, both the RAN file and RPMX file should be selected in the Output Files window.
