Note:
Starting from RecurDyn 2024, when using the recording function, the embedded MPEG codec in RecurDyn is used. This allows you to create high-quality videos without installing external video codecs.
Until RecurDyn 2023
RecurDyn provides a function to create an AVI file from Animation result.
A dialog box, 'Create AVI file' is opened when the record button beside the animation control is clicked.
You can save the AVI file by clicking 'Save' button.
You can hide the direction of the gravity or time and change the resolution of the AVI file.
The most important option is 'Compressor (Codec)'.
FunctionBay recommends to use 'G oogle VP8 VFW Video Codec'.
If this codec is not listed, then you need to install it.
You can find the installer from the web (vp8vfw-setup-1.2.0.exe - it is free - GPL)
or <installation path>\Bin\Addin\vp8vfw-setup-1.2.0.exe
Google VP8 VFW Video Codec will be listed after you install it.
If you use 'Uncompressed', then the size of the avi file can be more than several million MB (megabyte).
However, Google Codec can create the similar quality AVI file with just a few MB.
