ANSYS Spaceclaim or DesignModeler must be executed first!
Or Beginner users sometimes meet this problem.
When a user makes an MBD for ANSYS model and tries to run a simulation, the below warning sometimes pops up and the simulation doesn't perform properly.
Before building an MBD for ANSYS model, users must execute the ANSYS SpaceClaim or DesignModeler . (The CAD file is imported in them explicitly)
There are two options and users need to choose one of them.
Option 1)
1. New ANSYS SpaceClaim Geometry or New Design Modeler Geometry
2. Import geometries in it.
3. Edit Model. (MBD for ANSYS modeling)
Option 2)
1. Import Geometry
2. Edit Geometry (If you use DesignModeler, 'Generate' must be clicked in it.)
3. Edit Model. (MBD for ANSYS modeling)
If a user doesn't import the CAD files explicitly in ANSYS SpaceClaim or DesignModeler, the above warning message is displayed before the simulation. In that case, follow the steps below.
1. As the warning message says, execute 'Edit Geometry in SpaceClaim' or 'Edit Geometry in Design Modeler' on ANSYS Workbench. (When using DesignModeler, 'Generate' should be clicked in it.)
2. Execute 'Update Geometry from Source' from Tree Outline. (or close MBD for ANSYS (Mechanical Module) and execute it again)
When executing 'Update Geometry from Source', the geometry information associated with Joint, Force are sometimes removed. In that case, the material properties of the geometry should be set again. (Due to the changes of Geometry's name or ID)
