FFlex, one of the RecurDyn toolkits enables you to perform the Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics simulation. (MFBD simulation)
For MFBD simulation, you can use joints, forces and contacts for FFlex Body.
In addition, RecurDyn supports force elements which can be used only for flexible bodies.
In this article, LoadEx (Concentrated Load) and Pressure will be introduced.
- LoadEx (Concentrated Load) applies force to the specified node which has 2 types; Uniform and Relative.
- Pressure applies force to the specified patch set.
1. LoadEx - Uniform Type
Uniform type - LoadEx is used to apply the uniform directional force to the Node Set. The force is applied to each node in the Node Set. If 100N is applied to the Node Set which includes 20 nodes, 2,000N in total is applied.
2. LoadEx - Relative Type
Relative type - LoadEx is used to apply force to the Node Set. The direction of the force is decided by direction vector between reference node and target node.
This is useful when you want to apply uniform force in different directions.
3. Pressure
Pressure is used to apply 'Pressure' to the specified surface (Patch Set).
Since this is 'Pressure', the magnitude of the applied force can vary according to the size of patch.
For instance, in mm, N Unit system, the 100 N/mm^2 is applied to the Patch Set whose size is 100mm^2, the magnitude of total force is 10,000N.
