Floating Type
Technically speaking, A floating license allows a user to use a license from several client machine that can access the identified license server. usually, the floating license includes the number of uses who can access simultaneously.
Node-locked Type
A node-locked license allows a user to use a license on a specific machine only. But it is not required to be connected to a server.
