When a deformed flexible body with Pre-Stress applied in the initial state of analysis is required, it can be created using Extract in the past. However, in the case of a Beam element, it can be easily created just by checking the option.
When meshing or importing FFlex Beam elements, Pre-Stress can be applied by checking the related options.
- Import FFlex Body : Create Beam Element with Pre-Stress
- Auto Mesh : Create Beam Element with Pre-Stress
In addition, for Beams with Pre-Stress applied, it is also possible to confirm the Beam shape before the Pre-Stress is applied in the Properties dialog window of the Beam element."
With the Preview Shape function added to RecurDyn 2023, you can view the difference between the original Beam shape and the deformed Beam shape by Pre-Stress. As a result, at the beginning of the analysis, it is now possible to predict in which direction and how much reaction force will occur in the Beam.
The Preview Shape function can be applied in the Properties window of the Beam element.
