System Navigator

With the newly added System Navigator, it is now possible to understand the internal entity structure of one or several Subsystems belonging to a model at a glance, and easily enter the Edit mode of the desired Subsystem.

The System Navigator, which has the same form as the database window, displays multiple Subsystems and their associated Bodies, Joints, and Forces with a tree menu. The ‘Move to the Subsystem' function places the model into the Edit mode of the selected Subsystem or Body directly.

  • Move to the Subsystem (Body): Right-click on the name of selected Subsystem or Body to enter Edit Mode via one-click. (shortcut key: I)
  • Entities supported by System Navigator: Subsystem, Group, Marker, Body, Joint, Force, Contact, Clone, Parametric Point, Parametric Value, Expression

In the RecurDyn modeling process, the hierarchical structure can be complicated if users use multiple subsystems. In this case, the System Navigator allows users to check the names of Entities such as Marker, Joint, and Force that belong to a specific Subsystem, rather than requiring the user to first enter the Edit mode of the Subsystem. In addition, regardless of hierarchical order, it is now possible to enter Edit Mode of the desired Subsystem or Body immediately, enabling quicker subsystem modeling.

CAD Import Enhancements

Improved ‘Import CAD’ function in RecurDyn V9R2 automatically creates each Body and Subsystem by merging multiple geometries based on the hierarchical structure of the original CAD file through the intuitive UI during import so that unnecessary geometries are not imported.

This greatly reduces the amount of time  to import CAD files and allows RecurDyn to use the organizational structures of the original CAD files, significantly reducing modeling time.

When importing CAD files, it is now possible to effectively import the hierarchical structure from CAD into RecurDyn by using 'CAD Import Options'  as shown below.

  • Hierarchy Conversion Level: When importing geometry from a CAD file into RecurDyn, users can select the target of the CAD hierarchical structure to be a Body or Subsystem.
  • CAD Hierarchy Dialog: This option allows the user to import the CAD file after editing the hierarchical structure of the CAD file in detail (by delete/merge of the CAD solids).
  • CAD Import Options dialog can be enabled/disabled by the option, ‘CAD Import Options Dialog when Importing CAD Files’ at [Home]-[Setting]-[CAD]

General Group

It is now possible for users to group and manage desired entities within a complex RecurDyn model. In addition, ‘Object Control’, changing layers and rendering types of the grouped entities can be performed at the same time.

In the Group Properties dialog box, it is also possible to display the Properties dialog box of an individual entity (or entities).

It allows users to manage modeling entities more efficiently and select and edit desired entities more easily to check properties and change operations.
