How to change the direction of gravity
In RecurDyn, sometimes it is requires to make models on a slope.
For example,, when simulating the behavior of a power trunk of a vehicle, it may be necessary to simulate the behavior on a flat road and also on a slope.
In this case, it is not necessary to rotate all the objects according to the angle of the slope using Object Control.
You just need to change the direction of gravity. (This is the advantage of easy simulation!)
As shown below, you can open Gravity dialog box (from Dynamic/Kinematic Analysis dialog or Home - Setting - Gravity).
In order to change the direction of gravity, select Custom and input the appropriate directional vector and click 'Update' button.
If you change the direction of gravity, you can see that the direction of the arrow indicating the direction of gravity in the lower left corner changes as shown below.
Since X, Y, Z components of gravity can be defined as Parametric Values, it is possible to use them for DOE changing gravity direction.
