When using multiple subsystems in the RecurDyn modeling process, the hierarchical structure could become complex. In such complex models, it may be difficult to select a specific entity, move to Edit Mode, or modify parameters.

In such cases, the System Navigator feature allows for helping you easily understand the internal entity structure of the subsystem.

Using the System Navigator , you can easily understand the internal entity structure of multiple subsystems belonging to the model at a glance and move to the Edit Mode of the desired subsystem easily. In the System Navigator, which is in the same format as the database window, multiple subsystems and their corresponding bodies, joints, and forces are displayed in a tree menu.

For subsystems and bodies, it is possible to move directly to the Edit Mode regardless of the hierarchical order by using the 'Move to the Subsystem (Body)' function.

  • Move to the Subsystem (Body) : Enter the Edit Mode with a one-click using the right-click menu (shortcut key I) for the selected subsystem or body.
  • Entities supported by System Navigator : Subsystem, Group, Marker, Body, Joint, Force, Contact, Clone, Parametric Point, Parametric Value, Expression

For example, in the Excavator model shown above, if the part corresponding to the Track is created as a subsystem of the Chassis, it may be necessary to check the Track links or modify parameters. In this case, the user had the inconvenience of having to enter the Track subsystem every time for checking or modifying and then exit the subsystem again. However, using the system navigator, you can immediately check the Track subsystem model entities from any modeling position, and you can enter the Edit Mode of the desired entity belonging to the Track subsystem at once.
