After simulating a model in RecurDyn, you can draw a graph based on the simulation results. To do so, you must enter Plot mode and select the analysis results to display from the Plot Tree.
However, some of the results may not appear in the Plot Tree. To solve this problem, RecurDyn provides Expression and Request functions to help you plot the desired simulation results.
The Standard Request and Expression Request functions require you to simulate the model again to see the desired results. In contrast to this, the Expression Scope function allows you to display the results without repeating the simulation.
In the following sample model, Body1 moves along the curve while the curve rotates around BaseBody1.
To use the Expression Scope function to show the distance from BaseBody1.CM to Body1.CM, perform the following steps:
◾ On the Analysis tab, in the Scope group, click Expression.
◾ The following dialog window appears. Click the EL button, and then select the Expression you want to plot.
◾Click OK to show the selected Expression in a new graph.
RecurDyn also offers two other methods of displaying simulation results as a plot. For more information on these methods, see the following FAQs.
